Description/Abstract: Grant Seeking Opportunities for Students, Monday, 2/22, 3:30-5pm

The Education Program of the Gottesman Libraries will deliver a series of events in support of the grant seeking process, building partnership with Teachers College Office of Sponsored Programs.

Grant Seeking Opportunities for Students, Monday, 2/22, 3:30-5pm

This workshop will cover ways to search primary resources including Educat, SPIN, the Cornell University Graduate School Fellowship Database, Foundation Grants to Individuals, and MSU (Michigan State University Grants for Individuals), as well as basics of research design. The session will be hands-on with laptops for use by students. Key questions for exploration will include: What are the benefits of a particular research or project? Who is interested in the results of this research or project? What applications are there? Who will benefit from this project? Does the project improve on existing practice at TC or elsewhere? Will the project produce outcomes that might be reproduced at other institutions? How will curriculum development or major equipment purchases improve retention and/or assist students in a pipeline to advanced study in a particular field or discipline?
