Description/Abstract: Paper in which Deutsch examines the notion of trust and suspicion. He defines trust as an individual has trust in the occurrence of an event if he expects it to happen and his behavior leads to behavior which he perceives to have greater negative motivational consequences if the expectation does not occur and positive motivational consequences if it does occur. Suspicion is defined as if the disconfirmation of the expectation of the event's occurrence is preferred to its confirmation.
