Description/Abstract: In this talk Student Press Initiative (SPI) educators discuss the power of classroom publication, and how curriculum-based publishing projects help student-writers develop skills and confidence while simultaneously working to accomplish a teacher’s curricular goals and objectives. Various projects arehighlighted including the Rikers Island Oral History Project and "Illuminating Chaucer", a Canterbury Tales inspired hip-hop project. |
