Description/Abstract: Harry Houdini (born Erik Weisz in Budapest in 1874), the greatest magician and escape artist of the 20th century, died on October 31, 1926. Punched by one of his students who was testing the strength of his stomach muscles, Houdini failed to recover from a ruptured appendix at the age 52.
Stories feature Houdini's fame and life in the circus as a trapeze artist and contortionist, showcasing his daring stunts and escapes which relied upon remarkable strength, speed, dexterity, and concentration, rather than upon trickery.
