Description/Abstract: Social Media for Learning, Monday, 9/24, 3-4pm


This session introduces the variety of educational applications created by the Edlab for use by the TC community -- among them, Ednode, an intelligent search and recommendation tool that helps you connect with people who share your interests, academic background, and professional experience; Moodle, an e-collaboration space that allows anyone in the Teachers College community to create course-like experiences; Pocketknowledge, Teachers College's social archive and institutional repository; Pressible, a network of 300+ blog-like sites authored by the Teachers College community; Pundit, a search engine for Teachers College courses using keyword; Research Broker, an online match-making solution for people seeking research positions and employers looking for great people to fulfill their research needs; and Vialogues, a tool that supports focused discussions around videos, including time-coded, hyperlinked comments; polls; and surveys.
