Karen Bryner I own nothing but a computer and a passport with additional pages. I spent the last 8 years working or studying in the field of international education development. Before earning my master's degree in International Education at Harvard in 2001, I worked in Guatemala for two year in rural schools for Mayan children and a private school in the capital for children of the elite. Since then, I have conducted research and worked on a variety policy development projects and project design activities in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia for Harvard University, the World Bank and the Academy for Educational Development. I am currently a doctoral student in Comparative International Education with research interests in Muslim countries, particularly Indonesia.
