[picture]Students of Arthur Wesley Dow Collection: Dynamism in Design
Works From The Gottesman Libraries’ Students of Arthur Wesley Dow Collection. In these works by the students of Dow, the broad ranging subject matter is uniquely realized through harmonious arrangements of line, color, and “notan” - the Japanese system of lights and darks. Soaring lines and dramatic color contrasts chop at the pictorial plane, creating gravity defying bulbous and dense forms.
