Thomas Denison Wood Collection Professor Thomas Denison Wood, who retired from Teachers College in June, 1931 after completing three decades of service in Teachers College, was a pioneer in the arena of health and physical education. He earned an AB and AM from Oberlin College in 1888 and 1891 respectively, and an MD from Columbia in 1891. Through his teaching, his research and publications, and contributions to education, Professor Wood became renowned for his guidance in the school health movement.
