[picture]Harmonies of Line, Mass, and Color
In these works by the students of Dow, the broad ranging subject matter is uniquely realized through harmonious arrangements of line, color, and “notan” - the Japanese system of lights and darks. Soaring lines and dramatic color contrasts chop at the pictorial plane, creating gravity defying bulbous and dense forms.
