Hildegard Peplau Collection
Dr. Hildegard Peplau (1909-1999) received master's and doctorate degrees from Teachers College. In the 1950s, she developed and taught the first classes for graduate psychiatric nursing students at the College. Peplau's interpersonal nursing theory emphasized the relationship between nurse and patient as the foundation of nursing practice. The materials in the collection were provided by Wendy Kabiri, RN, ret-Columbia NYPH.
